Why do dogs Howl ?
Dogs howl at the moon. They howl when they hear the alarm bell of a fire truck or the signal of an poice car. The dogs howling adds to the noise of ambulance . Is the dogs howling trying to communicate that something is about to happen? Dogs have finely tuned senses. People consider that K9’s can see things that humans are powerless to see. Wolves also howl to frighten off a rival pack from encroaching on their land.
So what happens if a lone wolf howls to find its pack but gets a “wrong number” (i.e., the wrong pack answers)? Interestingly, it seems howls are easily recognizable, even to human researchers who track wolves. If a wolf howls and the responding howl doesn’t sound recognizable, he knows to steer clear of the locale.
Wolves in a pack have been known to howl when they stir at daybreak, however the reason for this not completely clear. A number of experts believe it possibly a way for the pack to strengthen its cohesion, a kind of roll call, Their saying “good morning I’m here”.

The dog is almost certainly missing its master, though some people will give other meaning to the howling. Some would believe that the dog is seeing its departed master. Howling is always associated with something ominous, but did you know that howling also indicates a dogs happiness? Dogs are social creatures. They crave the company of their human family. A dog wild bark and howl when it sees its master coming and when it is included in the play activities of the children.
Dogs in the wild howl back when they hear a distant howl. So do not be taken aback when your pet howls when the police car that passes by. The howling is an inborn, automatic reply to what is interpreted by the dog as another howl. The high pitch sound of a musical instrument, just as the sound of the television will be responded to by the dog in the same manner.
But if your dog howls during a song, he’s probably just trying to show he’s part of the group, not that your singing has gone to the dogs.
